It depends on what your blog niche is. Take advantage of Facebook groups and active pages to find your target audience and to learn more about their needs. Another way to find your target audience on Facebook is to join groups within your niche.
There are many niche niche groups on Facebook that you can connect with and learn more about the audience you hope to bring back to your blog. By studying what members share in these groups, you can learn the following:
- What products do you like to use?
- What questions or concerns often arise?
- What problems do they face?
- What is in your niche?
- What general demographics are interested in your niche?
Pinterest: dashboards, group boards, and specific keyword searches.
Pinterest doesn't work the same way as Facebook, but there are still some valuable insights that can be gathered here about your target audience, if you know where to look. One way to learn more about the interests of your target audience is to do a keyword search on Pinterest.
This is similar to SEO keyword research, but here it works a little differently. To do a keyword search on Pinterest, start with a term closely related to your niche. I wrote "blog" because at the center of my own niche and here were the results: Now, here are the things that are really interesting ... Do you see a list of clickable suggestion words at the top of the page to help narrow down your search results a bit?

You can click on any of the words or phrases listed in these keyword bubbles, and you can narrow down your search results a bit more. For example, I clicked on the keyword "for beginners" and the search narrowed to more specific topics:
Collect screenshots and information about Pinterest keyword search terms (to limit your results) This can give me a good idea of what my target audience is interested in for more information ... but how do I use it Who is my target audience?
Now, let's look at another example in a different blog space. We will start again with a new search on Pinterest, and this time I will use the phrase "healthy recipes" as a search phrase. There is a list of pins returned with this search query:
Example of a Pinterest search to help find your target audience as a blogger (screenshot). Before 2017, Pinterest allowed you to see how often a pin is popular by sharing a pin. They no longer provide this information to all users (only the owner of the PIN can now view this data), so recognizing the popularity of a particular PIN is not as easy as it was before.
However, you can see how many followers the original bookmark has. If you post too much content in your niche (and have a large following), your followers may be the same type of people you want to bring to your blog. After checking some of the top pins for "Healthy Recipes", I found enough followers of an account:
Example of Pinterest pin (screenshot) of designs for your target readers. Here's a pin from a very popular recipe blogger, The Whole Cook. He has 28.6k followers on Pinterest and has a blog loaded with high-quality content, so it would be a good prospect to try a promotional partnership.

2. Find online discussion forums (but to find your target audience)
In our current era of social media, it can be easy to forget that online discussion forums still exist on the Internet, virtually everywhere. While many people use Twitter or Facebook for their online discussions, dedicated forums also give space for like-minded people to meet and discuss topics that interest them. You can view forums on many different topics very easily, only Google is searching for "your niche platform" and seeing what comes up.
As an example, I chose "Woodworking Forums" to see what forums surfaced in this niche ... and there are over 28 results. Screen shot of discussion forum search results (to find your target audience online). One of the best results I liked the most was WoodworkingTalk, an active, community-driven discussion forum with tens of thousands of people chatting, sharing, asking, and responding:

Note that the buzz is everywhere ... "Can wood heat wood?" That one was viewed almost 1,000 times and had 33 comments (in about an hour after being posted).
This suggests to me that "kiln wood drying" may be a general topic for carpentry readers interested in learning more about it. Even blog headlines can be translated to.. How to bake dry wood (deformation without it). 10 common mistakes to avoid when drying oven wood. Can the oven be a warp of dry wood?
This little exercise can give you a pretty good idea of what the target audience for a woodworking blogger might be interested in learning more. Take this outline and apply it to your own blog. This can help you not only learn how to find your target audience for your blog, but also identify your most common weaknesses and the solutions you can provide with your blog content.
3. Use Google to search your target audience
Google searches for the most obvious keywords in your niche. It may not exactly satisfy your target audience, but it will definitely help steer you in the right direction towards more actionable ways to get in close contact with the people who are your ideal readers. It is likely to happen. Let's take another example.
If you're starting a food blog and want to focus on sharing your best lasagna recipes, Google search for "lasagna recipes" will pop up and let's see what happens. Screenshot of Google search results (example) to find your online audience. The bottom line is "The World's Best Lasagna" on the AllREPS website. If you click on that result, you'll be taken to the recipe page.
And one of the things I noticed is that this recipe has over 13,000 comments: Example of target audience participation (screenshot from review). When you scroll down the page (under the actual recipe) to the section where all the reviews are shown, you can actually see the profile of the real people who left the review after cooking with this recipe. Dice:
Review the screenshot (Target Audience Discovery). Even from this point of view, you can already identify some common trends about who is the most engaged audience with this lasagna recipe ... At least 6 out of 5 top critics are women (their Based on username and photo of profile) and half also seems to be a mother. You can scroll down and see more revisions that significantly strengthen these two data points.
While it's an anecdote and just an example here, it's important to keep that in mind though. This is where things get even more interesting when researching your target audience ... You can click on the profile of someone who reviews this lasagna recipe (a task that requires a user account), and you A full profile will see this:
Reviewer profile for more information about your target audience (example screenshot). From the profile level, you can collect much more information about the interests of your blog's target audience, and you can also follow and connect with these people. By searching for the most popular keyword phrases in your niche, you can:
Get a clear idea of the topics that are trending. Locate well-established websites that your target audience is already spending time with. See how the winning items are being positioned. See which headlines work best and what people are saying on those sites. This process will give you a clearer idea of what type of content will be most relevant to your target audience.
4. Look at the competition (other influences or brands in your niche)
To learn more about your target audience, look at other influencers, bloggers, and brands competing in your niche. Start by seeing who is currently ranking for some of your top keyword phrases in Google search. Suppose you are a travel blogger and want to be the best guide to explore Amsterdam ... there are places to see where to stay, what to eat.
A search for "Amsterdam Travel Guide" (a keyword phrase that would eventually be # 1) will immediately show you who your closest competitors will be on the subject. Screenshot of competitive blogs (to research for your target audience). Travel and Leisure will be stiff competition as they are a very well established global publication although it is not impossible to rule them out.
However, nomads Matt and The Gory Abroad are personal travel bloggers, suggesting that they should be very easy to compete on. Regardless, you can safely assume that each of these top 3 articles (and websites in general) are probably already doing an effective job of serving your target audience.
You can learn a lot about your target audience by spending time on the websites of your most successful competitors. This means that you can collect a lot of information about your target audience, such as:
Knowing what other people in your niche are blogging about will give you a pretty good idea of what's hot in your niche, especially when you're looking for successful bloggers. Which blog posts are receiving the most attention?
- Given these articles, they work best on Google.
- By clicking on each of these sites and covering other content topics that they are covering (to see what is clearly trending).
- Given what kind of discussions are going on in the comments section (and who are those people).
- Given how the individual articles are organized and what main sections they cover.

This is a great way to find your target audience and develop a deeper understanding of them, as they are asking the exact questions that are most relevant to them. Quora is a gold mine packed to cover valuable blog post ideas, and the platform provides an opportunity to engage with your target audience.
I've talked about Quora many times on my blog, because it is such a valuable source of important data that bloggers can gather about their target audience. To show you how useful Quora can be, we plan to start a gaming blog. Let's start at a very basic point and type the word "player" into a Quora search. Here are the results for this word:
Quora search example Make themes look after your target audience (screenshot). Just within the first few results, there are some great ideas about the gaming community. If I want to write related content, this discussion thread would be the perfect place to start. And not only do I have the opportunity to answer these questions.

The first two will help me understand how to be more authentic to my audience, and the last one gives me some very smart advice on content that quite a few aspiring pro players definitely want. In the first thread (about things players don't say), I can learn what generally frustrates or frustrates players. I can talk about these frustrations in a blog post.
- What are some things that are not for a player?
- What are the differences between a casual gamer and a hardcore gamer?
- How to become a professional player?
- So why did these three themes stand out to me in particular?

For example, one of the issues that came up many times was that female players feel disconnected from the gaming community. This will be something that as a game blogger I can keep in mind and sensitive when writing content. It also inspires many content ideas.
In another thread (about the difference between casual gamers and hardcore gamers), I can see what people think the difference is between someone who occasionally enjoys playing games and someone who enjoys spending a lot of time playing games. My blog may require me to decide right away, am I writing for casual or hardcore gamers?
This thread can help me choose what seems most authentic. The final question (how to become a professional gamer) is a great topic for a definitive guide style blog post. Many players will have the opportunity to earn money with the things that they like.

So saying YouTube is a valuable search platform to find and interact with your target audience is an understanding. YouTube channel screenshot (example). I have not yet invested enough time and effort in developing my YouTube channel for bloggers, but having less than 20 public videos, attracting more than 650 subscribers is very impressive in my opinion.
YouTube has a lot of growth potential and a more meaningful and direct relationship with its target audience. That being said, both podcasts and video content can give you a clear indication of content trends within your niche, want to know more about your target audience, and have already successfully covered your Va niche.
One of the best ways to present yourself to your target audience is to interview on podcasts and collaborate with popular YouTube channels. Unlike Pinterest, which no longer allows you to see how popular a particular pin is (unless it's yours), you can easily see the popularity of YouTube videos.
Top YouTube influencers videos can have millions of views and are likely to be viewed by many of your target audience. Podcast popularity isn't easy to determine, but you can find out how interested podcasts are. For example, if you want to know how successful a podcast is on Apple Podcast (iTunes), there are three key indicators:
Reviews are written by real people who listen to the podcast and are motivated enough to comment on their thoughts. They can provide you with useful information about how people feel about a particular podcast (or set of topics), allowing you to assess what topics you can find on your own blog or podcast. The rating is how well people have done podcasts from 1 to 5 stars.

The most listened to rankings on the podcast will also be very high. Here's a snapshot of my own podcast's reviews and ratings. Screenshot of podcast ratings and reviews (to find your target audience). Ranking is another way to find the most listened to podcasts (and individual episodes) in your niche, and iTunes ranks podcasts in each category.
There is no sure way to know how iTunes ranks all podcasts on their platform, but they have the best podcasts broken down into each category. You can easily watch the top-ranked podcasts in your niche, and even see which episodes get the most traction for the show.
Once you find these popular podcasters and YouTube channels, you will have many options. Follow them and learn more about your shared target audience by looking at the content they post and reach out and see if you can podcast (or co-produce a YouTube video) to your audience. Gather tangible ideas for blog post topics, podcast episode ideas, and video topics to cover
To really know which pieces of content are working well with your audience, because those people are also in your target audience. Since these podcasts and YouTube channels are similar to yours, your audience is likely to include the same people you hope to attract, so consider what a successful partnership with them could be like.
10. Talk to a person interested in your Niket
Another way to get to know your blog's target audience better is to reach them in person. Join clubs that encourage direct contact with each other. Attend conferences and lectures (even virtual ones can do the trick). Sign up for local events in your area.

In addition to my reviews covering some of the most popular blogging books, I've also included some of my own books that I give away for free in that post, which attracts new email subscribers every day. You can do the same for your chosen niche.

Because they are issues that all bloggers will face on the journey of developing a successful blog. In your own niche, you need to identify the main pillars of the points that you can begin to solve through useful content.
